Overview

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure track position in mathematics starting August 2018. The department offers BS and BA degrees in mathematics and statistics and a MEd in mathematics for in-service high school teachers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Faculty teach introductory and advanced classes in mathematics, primarily at the undergraduate level. Other priorities include working with undergraduates in research.

Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a PhD in mathematics by the time of appointment. Candidates with research interests in geometry or analysis are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must demonstrate success in teaching and potential in scholarship. Applicants must also clearly indicate their ability to support the department and college priority for research with undergraduates.
