Overview

The University of Mary invites applications for a full-time position in Physics, to begin in the Fall semester of 2024. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and rank.

Physics faculty responsibilities include teaching introductory and upper-division courses and laboratories (approximately 12 credits per semester) and assisting in the development of the physics program. Excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level is essential. Understanding of, support of, and willingness to participate in the advancement of the liberal arts is required. An active research program open to participation of undergraduate students is preferred. A Ph.D. in physics, or a closely related field, is required by time of employment.

All University of Mary faculty are expected to demonstrate a willingness to support and advance the Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine Mission and Identity of the University of Mary (see https://www.umary.edu/about/mission-identity). Faculty are also expected to participate in the on-going implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities, and to aid in fostering a culture of ready and earnest hospitality throughout the university in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ.
