Overview

The University of St. Thomas ( www.stthom.edu), a private Catholic university committed to the liberal arts and to the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, is seeking a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics. The University enrolls more than 3,200 students at its beautiful campus in Houston’s Museum District.

This position will be a one year appointment at the level of Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Cooperative Engineering. The Department has a BA in Mathematics, a BS in Applied Mathematics and a BS in Computer Science. In addition the Department cooperates with several Engineering Schools to provide students with a path to a BS in Engineering. The Department teaches a large number of service course load for other programs.

To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in Mathematics and/or provide evidence of completion by July 2017. This position will teach an annual course load of 24 credit hours, such as introduction to international studies, research writing and methods, international politics, and the senior thesis capstone.
