The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Eastern Illinois University invites applicants for a tenure track assistant professor position starting in August 2018. A Ph.D. is required, post-doctoral experience preferred. Expertise in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or Physical Chemistry is sought, with preference to applicants able to teach more than one of these areas. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience with promoting inclusive excellence is required.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach general chemistry and upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses in his/her area(s) of expertise. In addition, establishment of an externally funded research program with undergraduate/MS students and active participation in department and university service activities are expected. Teaching may include traditional, hybrid, and/or online modes of delivery/instruction.
