The Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, a tenure-track position, is responsible for teaching upper division biochemistry courses and other courses as assigned, such as organic chemistry lab and/or lower division lecture and lab courses. Development of a research program that includes undergraduate students is expected.
The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; some assigned courses may be taught on-line, hybrid, or via distance delivery modalities. Scholarship in the discipline, involvement with advising and service to the department and profession are expected.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
PhD in Chemistry or a closely related discipline by summer 2018.
Enthusiasm for working with and an ability to inspire undergraduate students at all levels, and effective communication skills are required.
Postdoctoral teaching and research experience.
