Louisiana State University at Alexandria Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month position as Assistant Professor of Biology beginning August 2017.

Candidates should have expertise in cellular and molecular biology and be able to teach courses in microbiology, genetics, cellular and molecular biology, and biochemistry, as well as introductory biology for majors and non-majors.

Applicants must hold an earned doctorate in Biology or a closely-related field prior to the time of hire. The successful candidate will have opportunities to develop upper-level courses and will be expected to develop a research program involving undergraduate students, advise students, engage in scholarly activity, and perform departmental, university, and community service. LSUA is an undergraduate-only institution and a sincere interest in teaching undergraduates is required. Teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
