This is a full-time 9 month, tenure-track teaching appointment to begin in fall 2017 for the department of Biology. Position will teach course load within biology.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Teach a broad offering of courses in biology
  2. Collaborate with other faculty members to design and implement curricular updates relating to the core vision of the Department
  3. Teach at various levels within the discipline
  4. Remain current in the field
  5. Recruit and advise students as needed
  6. Post and maintain regular office hours
  7. Serve on faculty committees as assigned or elected
  8. Participate in professional development activities
  9. Attend regularly scheduled faculty meetings, department meetings, and other required meetings
  10. Assist with departmental needs and development including outcomes assessment
  11. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Evidence of successful scholarship
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring
  • Ongoing commitment to faculty development and scholarship

Required Education, Experience, and License:

  • Ph.D. in Biology or related discipline
  • Specialization in Cell Biology
  • Experience teaching courses at the undergraduate level in Eukaryotic Cell Biology
  • Experience teaching Histology and/or Embryology at the undergraduate level preferred
  • Experience with online delivery of courses is preferred
