The Department of Sciences and Mathematics is dedicated to providing a quality education in order to prepare students for their chosen careers or post-graduate studies. The Sciences and Mathematics Department offers degrees in Biology (BS or BA), Environmental Studies (BA), and Exercise and Sport Science (BS). The department also offers minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Studies.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a full-time credit load, to engage in service, research and scholarship, student advising, recruiting, and to participate in campus-wide events. The appointment, effective July 1, 2018, will be made at the rank of a non-tenure track, fixed-term Assistant Professor of Chemistry, to teach in the Department of Sciences & Mathematics. This position will primarily teach lecture and lab courses in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry. Additionally, applicants should have experience with and the ability to use instructional technologies to support classroom activities.

The minimum qualifications include:

  • Ph.D. Chemistry
  • Experience teaching at the collegiate or university level

The preferred but not required qualifications include:

  • Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience teaching at the collegiate or university level
