General Summary:

A Ph.D. in chemistry is strongly preferred with a minimum of a master’s degree in chemistry required. A broad background in chemistry with a specialization in analytical chemistry is preferred. Teaching experience is highly valued. The candidate should have a primary specialty in analytical chemistry with a secondary specialty in physical chemistry being desirable, but not required. Candidates should be willing to participate enthusiastically in recruitment of new majors. Although the primary emphasis will be on teaching responsibilities, candidates should be able to develop a strong, student-centered, undergraduate research program as well. Expertise in the use of GCMS, LCMS, NMR, ICP-OES, and UV-Vis spectrometry is required.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:Teaching load consists of 12 credit hours per semester. Teaching responsibilities will include analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis, but may include physical chemistry and general chemistry as well.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Expertise in the use of GCMS, LCMS, NMR, ICP-OES, and UV-Vis spectrometry is required
