Job Summary/Basic Function:

To teach physics courses at the introductory and advanced levels for undergraduate students and courses for master’s and Ph.D. level students. To enhance and add to the department’s existing curricular offerings and programs. To engage in innovative research that involves both the mentoring and training of both undergraduate and graduate students. To seek and win funding from external sources to support research activities.

Minimum QualificationsA Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field is required.

Preferred QualificationsPostdoctoral experience and success in obtaining external funding are highly desirable, since physics faculty are expected to establish an externally funded research program.

Essential Functions and percent of time:Teaching – 45%

Research – 40%

Service – 15%
