Overview

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) invites applications for one faculty position in computer science beginning August 2019. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in the area of cyber security. The position is a tenure-track position; however, tenure may be awarded at the time of hire depending on qualifications. Further, depending on qualifications, the position may be at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Starting salary is negotiable. The successful candidate will serve as Director of the Center for Cyber Security and will be a faculty member of AUM’s computer science program offering a master’s degree in Cybersystems and Information Security and a bachelor’s degree in computer science. The department is also expected to enroll graduate students in a M.S. in Computer Science program beginning August 2018.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have received a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field before August 2019. The successful candidate will have a strong record of, or outstanding potential for, significant research and excellence in teaching, a commitment to service at both the departmental and university levels, and will possess effective oral and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in the area of cyber security.

SALARY: Starting salary is negotiable.
