California Baptist University invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in Biochemistry beginning August 13, 2018.

The appointment includes teaching upper division Biochemistry courses in addition to lower and upper division Chemistry courses based on the needs of the department and the applicant’s areas of expertise. Other duties include recruiting and advising undergraduate Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (¬†BMB) and Chemistry majors, engaging with undergraduate¬†BMB¬†and Chemistry and majors in original research, participation in departmental program assessment, and participation in other service to the University and department. Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University, and evidence a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching through the integration of Christian faith with learning.

QualificationsPreference will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or Chemistry (with an emphasis in Biochemistry) by August 2018. Additional preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience. Candidates who have a master’s degree and are pursuing a Ph.D. in one of the above areas or who have completed a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biology with a strong background in Biochemistry will also be considered.
