Wayne State College is seeking applications for a full time, non-tenure faculty position in Computer Information Systems.
An earned Master’s degree is required. Relevant work experience in computing, education, business or a related field is preferred along with proficiency in traditional classroom instruction and experience with online instruction and experience in teaching computer information systems or computer science courses.
This faculty position will primary teach emphasis in mainframe computing, database, computer programming, web programming, and related areas as assigned by the Dean. In addition to teaching (in-person and on-line), other duties include student advising, committee work and service (to the campus, school, department, and service region). The successful candidate will be expected to take an active role in CTIS Department curriculum revision and assessment efforts and may also be expected to maintain relationships with or serve as a liaison to selected external stakeholders of the academic programs offered by this academic department.
Primary responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Teach courses in the Computer Information Systems area with the following preferred:
- Mainframe Programming (COBOL language)
- Web Programming
- Advise students and take an active role in CTIS Department curriculum revision and assessment efforts
- Maintain departmental relationship with the IBM Academic Initiative
Secondary responsibilities may include a combination of the following according to the strengths and interests of the successful candidate:
- Serve as a co-sponsor of one of the student computing organizations
- Online delivery of instruction
- Participate in the campus community and service to the local community
