Highland Community College, located in the northwest corner of Illinois, is seeking to fill an opening for a full-time tenure-track instructor in Earth Science & Geography beginning the fall 2018 semester. This position will teach up to 15 contact hours each week (fall and spring semesters) and fulfill other duties included in a full-time faculty position. Ability to effectively teach geology, meteorology, physical geography, natural hazards and disasters, geographical information systems (GIS), regional geography, and other earth science & geography courses as needed is required. A Master’s degree (equivalent or higher) in an earth science field (e.g., geology, geography, meteorology) is required. Additionally, a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in geography may be required dependent on applicant coursework and degree. At least three years of college teaching experience preferred.
