The Department of Geosciences at Auburn University invites applications for a 9-month renewable non-tenure-track Lecturer position in Geography beginning January 1, 2018. The position is a one-year appointment subject to annual review based on performance, need and funding. The candidate should be pedagogically trained to teach courses including physical geography, GIS applications, and other thematic and regional courses.

The successful candidate will teach three or more lecture sections each semester. This appointment will also assist with the implementation of a new GIS Certificate Program as well as other service duties in the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Geography with demonstrable teaching experience.
Required qualifications include excellent written and interpersonal communications skills.
The candidate selected for this position must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States on the date the appointment is scheduled to begin and to continue working legally for the term of employment.

Desired Qualifications
Candidates with some pedagogical/education coursework and/or training are preferred.
