Overview

The Division of Science at Thomas University invites applications for a full-time, campus-based, 12-month faculty appointment with administrative responsibility as the Medical Laboratory Science Program Director over the university’s NAACLS-accredited Traditional MLS and fully-online 2+2 MLS bachelor’s programs. Applicants must have

  • a doctorate or be enrolled in a doctoral program;
  • ASCP certification as an MLS generalist;
  • a minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a clinical laboratory setting;
  • a minimum of 3 years teaching Medical Laboratory Science;
  • a master’s in MLS preferred;
  • academic leadership experience preferred.

The candidate’s teaching responsibilities will include lecture and lab components in Medical Laboratory Science areas to be determined based on the applicant’s expertise. Proven excellence in teaching and in the use of instructional/online technology and its pedagogy is required. Responsibilities as Program Director include serving as the primary liaison to the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences, assisting the Division Chair in overseeing MLS curriculum, instruction, and scheduling of MLS courses, preparing and submitting accreditation documentation, ensuring MLS Program Evaluation, and overseeing the MLS Academic Advisor and Clinical Coordinator.
