Overview

St. Lawrence University seeks a qualified candidate for a one-year visiting position in environmental studies, at the assistant professor level beginning August of 2018. The successful candidate will be an individual whose academic interests are the environmental impacts of agriculture. Areas of expertise could include agro-ecology, food systems, regenerative agriculture, or environmental benefits of sustainable agriculture. In addition, field-oriented knowledge of the natural world and an ability to teach field-oriented courses that could utilize our Ecological Sustainability Landscape (ESL), our department’s 100-acre living laboratory, and regional farms are preferred. This person will teach three courses per semester including Introduction to Environmental Studies as well as upper division courses in their field of interest or related subjects that complement the existing curriculum. The successful candidate will also have an on-going program of research and published scholarship that may include undergraduate students.  Ph.D. in Environmental Studies at time of appointment is strongly preferred; advanced ABD will be considered.
