The Department of Mathematics and Physics at the University of New Haven is pleased to announce two open rank searches for positions for Fall 2018. We seek a Statistician and an Applied or Computational Mathematician to be teacher-scholars in a small active Mathematics and Physics department, both positions being in support of our proposed new Masters in Applied and Computational Mathematics. We anticipate recruiting one of the candidates as department chair.
Required qualifications for both positions are an earned doctorate in Mathematics, a record of teaching excellence and research, a demonstrated commitment to working with diverse student populations, academic outreach, and promoting techniques of effective and innovative instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Candidates for Chair must demonstrate a dynamic vision for developing, supporting, and directing a complex organization aimed at growing baccalaureate and masters programs, and for providing the highest-quality math and physics education through experiential, collaborative and discovery-based learning. They must have a record of leadership including excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
