The Center for Open Research Resources and Equipment (https://core.uconn.edu/about) at the University of Connecticut seeks a Director to lead the Statistical Consulting Service (SCS).
In an age where issues of reproducibility have become central to the national scientific discourse, the importance of resources to ensure statistical rigor have continued to increase. The SCS at the University of Connecticut has seen substantial growth over the past decade, resulting most recently, in increased institutional investment. Though the SCS primarily exists to serve the statistical consulting needs of the greater UConn research community, it additionally plays a role in providing expert statistical consulting services to regional businesses, as well as graduate student training through close collaboration with the UConn Department of Statistics (https://stat.uconn.edu/).
The successful candidate will be motivated to maintain and grow a high quality fee-based statistical consulting service at the cutting edge of statistical knowledge. Aside from general administrative duties, it is expected that the majority of the Director’s time will be spent providing consultations to users, carrying out data analyses, providing workshops, and managing graduate student staff.
Screening of candidates will begin immediately. Employment of the successful candidate will be contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check. (Search # 2018552)
