The Department of Science and Mathematics at Judson University seeks applications from individuals to fill a full-time visiting assistant professor position in Chemistry and Biochemistry for AY2018-2019. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
Primary Responsibilities: Prepare lessons, select homework assignments as necessary, and create tests and quizzes over the appropriate textbook sections. Give lectures and/or active learning work during class times as appropriate to the course goals. Respond to student questions (often via email) and evaluate student work. Each course comes with a laboratory component for which the instructor is responsible. The position includes teaching a general education sequence of Concepts in Life Science and Concepts in Chemistry, a two-semester sequence of General Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Analytical Chemistry.
Qualifications: Candidates must 1) hold an earned master’s degree, doctorate preferred, in Biochemistry or Chemistry, 2) demonstrate an active and growing Christian faith, 3) share a commitment to excellence in teaching within a Christ-centered academic community, and 4) possess collaborative skills to work with colleagues across the Science and Mathematics Department and throughout the university.
Salary/Benefits: Rank and salary based on qualifications, education, and work experience.
