Whitman College is a liberal arts college of 1500 undergraduate students in southeastern Washington State. The position is housed in the Department of Physics, which includes six faculty with a variety of interests. The department graduates an average of 12 majors per year and we have student engagement in SPS, local outreach and faculty research. The position also contributes to the interdisciplinary BBMB program (Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology), which includes other faculty from biology and chemistry and graduates an average of 22 majors per year.
The successful candidate will offer the following courses: upper level undergraduate biophysics (with lab), calculus-based introductory physics (with lab), and advising senior BBMB students on the writing of their theses.
