The School of Education at Duquesne University invites applications for a 12-month Visiting Assistant Professor of Science Education from 7/1/17 – 6/30/18.
Responsibilities associated with this position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in PreK-4, middle level and secondary science education.
The Department of Instruction and Leadership in Education offers the Ed.D., M.S., and B.S. degrees and a variety of teaching certifications. Our collegial and dynamic department currently has 16 research-active faculty, more than 400 graduate students, and over 350 undergraduate students. Faculty research interests cover the breadth of the educational field focusing on curriculum, instruction, technology, and leadership in teaching and teacher education. Required qualifications include:
- An earned Masters Degree in Science Education;
- A minimum 3 years’ experience teaching Science in K-12 schools; and
- Teaching and/or programmatic experience in higher education, or experience in the professional development or K-12 leadership of science teachers.
Preferred qualifications include a Doctorate in Science Education and additional expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Mathematics education;
- Instructional technology;
- General teaching techniques across content areas.
