The Department of Earth, Environmental and Geographical Sciences at UNC Charlotte — home to over 35 faculty members, 400 undergraduate majors, and 80 graduate students — is searching for an Assistant Teaching Professor to join a growing sustainability program.
Responsibilities
This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, nine-month position focused on teaching introductory sustainability and geography courses, including Environment, Society, and Sustainability and Foundations of Sustainability, plus contributing to the department's new Minor in Sustainability and general education offerings.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Geography or a related discipline by the appointment date
- Ability to teach undergraduate curricula in Geography, Sustainability, and General Education
- A demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices
Appointment
Three-year appointment with the possibility of renewal and promotion. Start date August 15, 2026.
