Position
Duties/Responsibilities
The selected candidate for this position will be responsible for the following:
- Preparing and teaching a variety of general education mathematics courses. The standard course load is 15 hours per semester.
- Being of service to the department, university, and broader community
- Participate in departmental meetings, serve
on committees (e.g., curriculum committee, hiring committee), and contribute to program development and evaluation. - Engage in
outreach and recruitment activities to promote mathematics as an educational pathway - Effectively balance responsibilities to fulfill
teaching, scholarly activity, and service obligations. - Collaborate effectively with colleagues and foster a positive academic
environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in an area of the mathematical sciences or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in
Mathematics - Excellent teaching, strong communications skills, and potential for excellence in service to the
department.
- Experience teaching at the university level
- Experience with
multiple modes of instructional delivery (face-to-face, hybrid, online) - Participation in professional organizations (e.g., AMS, MAA,
SIAM) and a willingness to contribute to the broader mathematical community.
