Non-Tenure Track Term Assistant Professor of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) invites applications for a non-tenure track term Assistant Professor
of Chemistry with a specialty in inorganic or bioinorganic chemistry. We are seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered inorganic chemist
who is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of scientists. This position offers the opportunity to inspire students
through engaging instruction, innovative laboratory experiences, and meaningful faculty-student interactions within a collaborative and
supportive academic environment that values excellence in undergraduate education. The anticipated start date for this position is August
2027.

The Department offers undergraduate instruction in general, organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and biochemistry. We
seek an enthusiastic educator whose expertise complements the department's strengths and who is committed to student-centered teaching and
mentorship. The successful candidate will teach four or more undergraduate courses, contribute to departmental, college, and/or university
service, and participate in a collaborative academic environment that values innovative teaching, student mentorship, curriculum
development, and active engagement in departmental life in support of the broader educational mission of the College of Arts and Sciences.

To thrive in this role, the candidate
should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to teach core and specialized courses in the department's curriculum,
demonstrated potential to support and mentor students, demonstrated commitment to student success, and knowledge of innovative teaching
practice.

The applicant should be passionate about engaging chemistry students in a diverse, open access, primarily undergraduate
institutional environment. This passion should be evident through dynamic classroom instruction and a willingness to work closely with the
chemistry faculty to most effectively engage our student body.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Chemistry
or closely related field by the time of appointment. Disciplinary expertise in inorganic or bioinorganic chemistry. Evidence of potential
for excellence in teaching at the college/university level.

Preferred Experience:

Evidence of effective
teaching across modalities, including online or hybrid formats. Experience with curriculum development, program assessment, or course
design. Experience teaching or working in an open-access, public university. Evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration or
applied/community-engaged scholarship. Experience or demonstrated potential in contributing to interdisciplinary programs. Knowledge of
regional issues or communities relevant to the institution's mission (e.g., Circumpolar North, Alaska Native communities, rural engagement).


Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage,
Alaska. This is a full-time, 9 month base, term funded faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. Position will be either a one
or two year appointment depending on prior teaching experience. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement
options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and
vision care coverage. Faculty salaries are based on a variety of factors, including education and experience.
