Description
The Department of Mathematics at Western New England University seeks applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, three-year renewable teaching/administrative Professional Educator of Mathematics position beginning in late August 2026. Teaching responsibilities will be three courses per semester. Administrative responsibilities will include directing the Math Center.
The Math Center supports student success in freshman and sophomore level mathematics courses. The Director, reporting to the Department Chair, will be responsible for the hiring, training and supervising of all student tutors; effective management of payroll, budget, and schedules; statistical analyses; and regular communication with stakeholders around campus.
The Department of Mathematics has 12 full-time faculty members who oversee undergraduate majors in actuarial science, mathematics, data science & statistics, and mathematics for elementary and secondary educators, and minors in statistics and mathematics. The Department also teaches many courses serving students in the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, and Pharmacy.

Qualifications
- Required qualifications: minimum of a master's degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field; expertise in mathematics education; strong administrative and interpersonal skills; demonstrated teaching excellence.
- Preferred qualifications: Previous experience in a similar type of position; interest in teaching developmental mathematics courses.
