Overview: OPPORTUNITY The Rooney International Visiting Scholar Program offers international
scholars the opportunity to spend a semester in residence at Robert Morris University pursuing research, and/ or teaching while interacting
with faculty, staff, and students. The Rooney Scholars live on campus in the Rooney House and become part of the campus community. Travel
expenses will be provided and well as an automobile for the Scholar's use (valid driver's license required). A salary is provided. RMU is
currently accepting applications for the Academic Year 2026-27, for Fall 2026 (approximately, August 25 - December 15, 2026) and Spring 2027
(approximately, January 13 - May 5, 2027).
Responsibilities: During their semester residency at RMU, Rooney Scholars may
participate in a variety of activities, such as: Pursuing independent research objectives and collaborating with faculty, staff, or/and
students on research projects. Delivering formal presentations to the university community or/and to specific academic schools. Presenting
guest lectures in classes. Teaching a course within their host school. Preference is given to applicants who include a plan to work with RMU
faculty on joint research projects.
Minimum Qualifications: The applicant will have a Ph.D. or an advanced degree in a related
discipline offered at Robert Morris University, or significant experience in an area of cultural or humanitarian interest to the University.

professional record, and must be committed to excellence in teaching and learning. Applicants must also demonstrate leadership skills,
communications skills in English, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with others in an academic environment.
