Job SummaryThe Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE, or PROFESSOR rank. Candidates must possess a Ph.D., MD, or equivalent degree. For applicants at the Assistant Professor rank, extramural funding is not required. Senior applicants must have an active, extramurally funded research program that would transfer to the University of Kentucky. Competitive start-up funds, salary support, and appropriate space will be offered.

We are particularly interested in candidates whose research area complements existing departmental strengths, which include but are not limited to research in the structural and cellular biology of cardiovascular, neurological, metabolic diseases, and cancer. Translational research programs that encompass aspects of basic and clinical research are also of interest. The Department offers a stimulating and collaborative environment, with a strong graduate program, access to core facilities including excellent animal facilities, laboratory space in a modern research complex, and shared, state-of-the-art equipment. Department research funding is ranked in the top 20, nationally. The University of Kentucky houses an NCI-designated Cancer Center, a federally-supported Alzheimer’s Disease Center, and a Clinical and Translational Science Award. In addition, the College of Medicine and the University are undergoing a significant transformation of biomedical research, with major increases in NIH funding, and additions to research service cores and laboratory space.
