Mount Mercy University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Science position. We seek a student-centered, enthusiastic, collaborative, and innovative colleague.

Ideal candidates will have a broad background in Computer Science and proven teaching skills. A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required for a tenure-track position. Responsibilities include teaching a wide range of undergraduate CS courses with potential to teach specialized courses in field of specialization. Experience teaching online courses is a plus. There is an expectation of scholarship with undergraduate students. Applicants with a Master’s degree may be considered for a non-tenure track position.

Excellence in teaching is a top priority for this position. Faculty are expected to teach approximately 6-7 courses per academic year. Other responsibilities include undergraduate advising, research with undergraduate students, and curriculum development with the goal of enhancing the existing computer science program or addition of new programs. Successful candidates will also be expected to form and maintain community partnerships within the local area to increase visibility of the program and create internship opportunities for students.
