This is a bargaining unit position represented by the Association for Higher Education (AHE). Compensation and benefits are subject to the collective bargaining process. There will be paid comprehensive onboarding and training beginning August 1, 2026, but the contract for this position begins on September 1, 2026. This is a tenure track position and will begin the three-year tenure process in fall quarter 2026. More information about the tenure process can be found in Chapter 28B.50 RCW governing Washington State Community and Technical Colleges.

- Master's degree in Biology or other closely related field with significant Microbiology coursework at the undergraduate and graduate level from an institutionally accredited college or university;
- One (1) year college-level teaching experience or similar experience such as teaching apprenticeship, fellowship, etc.;
- Experience with computer applications for instructional purposes (e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Canvas, etc.); and
- Demonstrated experience or commitment to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in professional or educational settings, particularly in relation to Hispanic and underserved communities. This includes personal and professional efforts to address challenges faced by these populations and advocate for their success.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish;
- Doctorate degree in Biology or other closely related field from an institutionally accredited college or university;
- College-level teaching experience in Microbiology;
- Experience with innovative teaching methods; and
- Demonstrated success in student achievement and engagement.

- Provide proof of lawful permanent residency or other appropriate work authorization as required by the Immigration Reform Control Act of 1986.
- Disclose any substantiated findings or any ongoing investigations related to sexual misconduct as required by RCW 28B.112.080.
- Pass a criminal background check. Note: information learned during the criminal background check will not necessarily preclude employment but may be a factor in eligibility for the position.
