POSITION

A full-time position in the Department of Natural Science and Mathematics is available beginning August 2024.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach majors and general education courses in biology, including human anatomy & physiology and/or related subjects.
  • Advise current students and recruit prospective students both by meeting with them on campus and assisting with departmental recruitment activities.
  • Assist in maintaining and revising the biology curriculum through assessment and program review.
  • Participate in faculty governance and committees as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

All SC employees are expected to demonstrate a strong and articulate Christian faith, to model and mentor students in servant leadership and in the integration of faith into every aspect of life and learning.  Specific requirements for this position include:

  • Earned doctorate in Biology or terminal degree in related field (D.P.T, M.D., D.O. etc.) preferred. Minimum of a master’s degree in biology or closely related field required.
  • College teaching or clinical experience that demonstrates an understanding of the teaching/learning process.
  • An understanding of undergraduate college students and an ability to relate well to them.
  • An understanding of an interdisciplinary approach to the liberal arts, and an ability to work with faculty from diverse disciplines.

COMPENSATION

Salary and rank will be determined by credentials and experience. The College provides a benefits package and stipend for moving expenses.
