Overview
The Department of Mathematical Sciences is seeking qualified candidates as a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Salary will be based on degree and experience. This is a residential appointment and campus presence is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching undergraduate mathematics courses, including lower and upper division courses. The normal teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester.
- Good communication skills and a commitment to excellence in teaching are required.
- Maintain appropriate service to the department and university, including committee service, academic advising, among other duties as assigned.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- A PhD in Mathematics.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed during normal work hours but may require some evening or weekend hours.
- Work is sedentary in nature with 10 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.
- Work requires reaching, handling of objects with hands and/or fingers, talking, and/or hearing and seeing.
