Assistant Professor of Chemistry
Three-Year Term Position
Hendrix College invites applications for a three-year term position for an Assistant Professor of Chemistry to begin in August 2023. The College seeks to extend its tradition of excellence in teaching and scholarship by attracting faculty who combine mastery of their disciplines with broad intellectual interests and commitment to the aims of a liberal arts college. The successful candidate will have a 3/3 teaching assignment. They will be expected to contribute to the first-year general chemistry sequence, as well as to non-majors’ courses. Beyond the first year, there may also be the possibility of the successful candidate teaching courses in their own subdiscipline. Doctorate is preferred; ABD will be considered.
Applications should include a cover letter addressing the candidate’s interest in teaching in a demanding liberal arts environment, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching interests, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and undergraduate and graduate transcripts.
