Overview

Grove City College announces two regular full-time faculty openings in the Department of Mathematics beginning in August 2020. The department currently has eight full-time faculty, offering three degrees to our vibrant undergraduate community: a B.S. in Mathematics, a B.S. in Mathematics with certification in Math Secondary Education, and a B.S. in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Sciences.

A Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field is required for continuing employment, but we will consider candidates who are nearing completion of their doctorate. Responsibilities for both positions include teaching a variety of lower-level and upper-level undergraduate math courses, guiding undergraduate student research projects, and developing innovative pedagogy and curriculum. A strong preference for one of the positions will be given for applicants with experience administering an undergraduate actuary program or a background working with data analytics.

Preference will be given to those who have a strong record of training or classroom teaching and scholarship within their field. Candidates must have a commitment to instructing and advising highly motivated students. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications. Faculty members are expected to have a classroom load of 23 to 25 contact hours per academic year.
