Overview

The Eberly College of Science at Penn State is seeking an Assistant Research Professor to perform research in the area of structural and functional studies of enzymatic and non-enzymatic complexes of proteins with nucleic acids. Duties will include designing and conducting experiments aimed at the characterization of large protein complexes and networks, including complexes with nucleic acids, supervising junior researchers as necessary, and writing manuscripts describing findings.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must have a master’s or terminal degree in a related academic field by the start date, demonstrated ability as a researcher, and evidence of professional growth and scholarship. Demonstrated experience in the development and application of novel approaches to isolation and structural/functional characterization of proteins and protein-nucleic acid complexes, as well as practical skills in biochemistry and molecular biology, are required. Additional years of practical experience in a related area are preferred.
