The Physics and Astronomy Department in the College of Arts and Sciences is inviting applications for an Assistant Professor. The Assistant Professor will be expected to establish a vigorous externally funded research program, interact with other departmental faculty, and to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Required Qualifications:
The applicant must have a demonstrated record of excellence in one or more fields complementing the expertise of the department. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree in physics, astronomy or related fields, must have demonstrated the ability to initiate and lead research as evidenced by an established record of quality publications in scientific journals, must be able to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies, and possess excellent teaching skills.
