Overview

The Department of Chemistry and Physics within the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a Lecturer position in Astronomy beginning Fall of 2024. The primary responsibilities of this position include: teaching astronomy lectures and labs for the minor in astronomy and astrophysics; teaching physical science laboratory courses at the sophomore level; serving as the advisor for the astronomy club; program development and outreach; and institutional and community service.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in astronomy, astrophysics, or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in teaching introductory astronomy lectures and labs.

Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties?

Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility
