The Department of Chemistry at Washington State University invites applications for two permanent, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Pullman, Washington with experimental research emphases that broadly enhance nuclear science, radiochemistry (e.g. materials, synthetic, spectroscopy, separations), and analytical chemistry.  The positions will begin Aug 16, 2020, and candidates with research interests in these areas are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidates will join an environment enriched by cross-disciplinary programs that build upon the strong, formalized ties to Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (https://thewsu-pnnlinstitutes.labworks.org/nuclearscitech/) and the WSU Nuclear Science Center (https://nsc.wsu.edu/) which houses a 1 MW TRIGA reactor.  The Department of Chemistry particularly seeks applicants who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching, research, and service.

Job duties: Developing and maintaining a productive, robust research program, seeking appropriate grant funding, mentoring graduate student research in Chemistry, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses (including General Chemistry), within the Department of Chemistry, and providing service to the department, college, university and/or profession.

Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include an earned doctoral degree in Chemistry and at least one year of post-doctoral research training (or equivalent experience) by employment start date with a demonstrated record of research publications.  Candidates must also demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively with faculty and to mentor students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds. Preferred qualifications include previous teaching experience and evidence of an ability to obtain extramural research funding.
